The earlier a problem is identified and treated, the better the outcome will be for your child.
Because communication delays can affect talking, understanding, playing, and social skills with others, early intervention is essential to successful intervention. When a child struggles with communication, they may display more frustration, throw more tantrums, or exhibit other behavioral issues that may have an effect on reading and future academic success in addition to communication development and peer interactions.
Early intervention services are intended to address a developmental delay as soon as possible. Newborns and toddlers up to age three, can use the services. Following a comprehensive evaluation, an individualized treatment plan is created and assessment to outline the services the child and family will need to address the delays.
Our team of pediatric speech, occupational and physical therapists provide services to children and their families in our clinic while encouraging and teaching carryover of skills to the child’s natural setting (where they live, learn and play).

We follow a parent-coaching model. While we are providing therapy to each child, we encourage parents and/or caregivers to take a hands-on approach. We love to teach you techniques during the sessions that help you continue therapy throughout the week in the child's natural environment. We also provide examples of how to incorporate different strategies into the child’s daily routines such as brushing teeth or bath time. We understand that every family is different and every child is different, so we create programs that are unique to your family’s situation.
The first three years of a child's life are important, formative years in maximizing a child's future potential. If you are concerned that your infant or toddler may be experiencing developmental delays, contact us today!
The trajectory of a child's life can be shaped by early intervention for speech delay. The foundation of children's social, emotional, and cognitive development is effective communication. Early detection and treatment of speech problems can help children overcome communication barriers and provide a solid foundation for future development. Our therapists strive to unleash each child's potential, enabling them to communicate with confidence and seize a world of opportunities, through cooperation, devotion, and a focus on individual needs.
Commonly Asked Question:
Is it normal for a 3-year-old to not talk clearly?
If your child's speech is harder to understand than expected for their age, it is important to call a speech therapist for a possible screening or evaluation. Parents and regular caregivers should understand about 50% of a child's speech at 2 years and 75% of it at 3 years. By 4 years old, a child should be mostly understood, even by people who don't know the child.
